Welcome to Reception, part of our Early Years Foundation Stage
At Ladygrove Park, in our Early Years setting, we aim to support the children by;
- Providing an enabling environment, so that they will develop and practise their skills, develop their own interests, creativity and independence;
- Building positive relationships with peers and adults, so that they will feel safe, develop their confidence and resilience to be able to collaborate with others;
- Providing rich experiences to encourage children's curiosity, so that children deepen their understanding of our culturally, socially, technologically and ecologically diverse world;
- Participating in quality interactions within a language rich environment, so that the children will grow their vocabulary and develop early language skills and communicate effectively;
- Sharing aspirational expectations, so that children are challenged to move their thinking and learning on to their next steps and are able to build on their prior knowledge and make links to new learning.

erm 3’s enquiry question is ‘Where is my school?’ The children will be geographers, learning about where the school is, what is around the school and begin to look at and make simple maps. As part of this we will be taking a walk around the inside of the school and also the local area. This walk will take place on Monday 13th January if you are able to help. As artists and engineers, the children will develop and expand their painting and modelling skills and create a piece of art linked to our school or something they see around school. We will be holding a gallery event to show your children’s creativity.
